This position acts as the public relations representative of the Center’s Dental Program. Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, the Patient Service Representative (PSR) confers with incoming and outgoing patients/visitors, assisting them as needed.  The PSR directs patients/visitors to appropriate locations throughout the office; interacts with patients/visitors in a courteous, appropriate, respectful manner at all times and without exception.  This position receives all incoming calls and routes appropriately.  The PSR shall take messages when necessary and shall forward such to the intended party in a timely, responsible manner.  This position performs the following duties in accordance with the established policy and procedures of the New Horizon Family Health Services.

Experience and Skills:

Education:

• Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge and Skills:

• Preferably two years’ experience in medical or dental office, telephone switchboard operator or equivalent
• Ability to speak and communicate effectively with co-workers, patients and the public
• Pleasant personality, pleasing, professional appearance and disposition
• Must be punctual and extremely reliable
• Ability to understand and follow in detail both verbal and written instructions
• Exercises discretion and sound judgment when dealing with patients, visitors and co-workers
