Details:

  • Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Patient Service Representative (PSR) confers with incoming and outgoing patients/visitors, assisting them as needed on the MMT Mobile Medical Unit.  The PSR directs patients/visitors to appropriate locations throughout the office; interacts with patients/visitors in a courteous, appropriate, respectful manner at all times and without exception.  This position receives incoming calls and routes appropriately, taking messages when necessary and forwarding them to the intended party in a timely, responsible manner.  This position performs the following duties in accordance with the established policy and procedures of New Horizon Family Health Services.

 

Experience and Skills:

Education:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Office Training Certificate or relevant education and training beyond high school preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Preferably two years’ experience in a medical office or other healthcare facility setting
  • Demonstrates basic math computation skills
  • Has the ability to speak and communicate effectively with co-workers, patients and the public
  • Has the ability to understand and follow in detail both verbal and written instructions
  • Exercises discretion and sound judgment when dealing with patients, visitors and co-workers
  • Must have working knowledge of computer programs and professional construction of emails
  • Must demonstrate the ability to accept responsibility as indicated
  • Must be a motivated and enthusiastic learner
  • Must present a courteous, tactful, and professional attitude and demeanor
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work under stress and work well with others
  • Follows NHFHS policies and procedures including personal visits and phone calls
  • Must have legible handwriting, excellent spelling, and ability to speak clearly and in a grammatically correct manner
